This week’s Tuesdays with Dorie recipe comes from Dorie’s latest book, Dorie’s Anytime Cakes. Bran-Berry Muffins seemed like a perfect back-to-school bake for this month!
These come together quickly and use whole wheat and plain flour along with wheat germ/ bran so they are *kinda* healthy (although they do have a fair amount of sugar too (including turbinado on top), so they definitely fit more in the category of “cake muffins” – it’s rare these days to find muffins that aren’t cake-like (not that I am complaining and hence, I guess, why they are included in a cake cookbook!). Surprisingly theses weren’t too sweet!
I really enjoyed these – made a half batch based on how many berries I had in my fridge. Would definitely make again based on how easily and quickly they come together!
