Looking for an easy snack the kids can prepare over the summer holidays? How about the classic French palmier cookies? There’s obviously a recipe for the classic version (puff pastry and sugar) included in In the French kitchen with kids but did you know they are one of the most versatile snacks out there, lending themselves to both sweet and savoury versions?
The technique, though it requires a little practice, is easy once you get the hang of it and don’t worry, even those palmiers that you fold and cut imperfectly will still taste great!
The recipe works so well with both sweet and savoury fillings (think pesto!) and even works with a little grated parmesan sandwiched between the layers!
