Brrr – the temperatures have certainly dropped significantly over the past few days and we’re well into “Comfort Food” weather. Perfect timing as I’ve just written about one of my favourite comforts foods over on JamieOliver.Com.
Mmmm… it’s an easy potato gratin baked with cheese and bacon and topped with slivered almonds and green onions.
It’s based on some of my favourite baked potato combinations – like these twice baked potatoes (my dad’s favourite!), this slow cooker “baked potato” soup or even this chilled potato soup (file away for when it’s warmer!). I wanted to jazz up the potato gratins of old (you know, the ones made with canned cream of mushroom soup?!) and it’s easy with just a few simple additions.

Hi there, great bacon dish! How about adding it to the Food on Friday: Bacon collection over at Carole’s Chatter? Cheers
Loving this! I wouldn’t have thought of adding almonds to this casserole.
Yummy!
