It’s an illy giveaway!

Monday morning. That can only mean one thing. COFFEE!  And even better, I have a coffee-related giveaway from illy for one lucky US/Canadian reader!

illy was the coffee of choice at last week’s IACP “Fashion of Food” conference in New York City where I will admit to indulging in more than one much-needed caffeinated beverage!  A long-time supporter of the culinary arts, the distinctive illy blend of the earth’s best Arabica coffees delights coffee lovers at more than 50,000 finer cafes, restaurants, coffee bars, hotels and retailers around the world every day.  Founded in Trieste, Italy nealy 80 years ago, illy is known for its delicious coffee and for pioneering some of coffee’s most important innovations, including the modern espresso machine – talk about a contribution to our modern day coffee obsession!

To celebrate the culinary arts and the 20th anniversary of the illy Art Collection of limited-edition artist-designed coffee cups and cans,  illy has put together a very special giveaway for coffee lovers.  For a chance to win one of illy‘s artist cup collections, all you have to do is “like” illy on Facebook. (see below for entry details)

Prize package details: Julian Schnabel’s series coffee mugs for illy features his longtime inspiration, the surfer-character Chuck. In keeping with the surfer theme, the espresso collection package is shaped like a life-preserver. The “Saturday” and “Sunday” cups are full-size mugs, again featuring Chuck, suggesting more time to relax and enjoy a cup of illy.

New York-born Julian Schnabel is best known for his leading role in the mid-1980’s neo-expressionism movement, where bold, emotionally-charged work contrasted with the minimalism dominant at the time. In addition to his physical creations, Schnabel wrote and directed two films: Basquiat (1996) and Before Night Falls (2000). His seven cup series joins illy Collection Creations by James Rosenquist, Jeff Koons, Francis Ford Coppola and other prominent artists.

I’ve always loved the illy coffee artist collections cups and mugs, though at home, we prefer our illy ESE pod coffee in the plain illy espresso cups. I’d *love* one of the mugs to have as my “work coffee” vessel 🙂

  2. I liked Illy on FB.
I not only just like Illy on FB, but love them IRL! The handle on the mugs are great and illy always extracts the best tasting espresso. I always opt for coffee at inner if I see the red and white logo and those coffee mugs around.

  3. I am a big fan of Illy coffee. I once read a blog post about visiting Illy’s headquarters in Italy and it’s just facinating.

  4. My husband is very particular about our coffee. He grinds our beans and makes it in a little espresso pot on the gas stove. However when we spent 2 months in Holland he loved the single cup Tassimo maker. Much less expensive for those pods than here in Canada

  7. I love my coffee with a little vanilla syrup and skim milk to cool it down. Illy coffee is so delish – I was psyched to see them at IACP … made my mornings a little brighter (and made me more awake)!

  8. I like my coffee one of three ways.
First and foremost, hot. If that’s been covered off, then the next would be with a good milky froth a la latte. And third, if time and place permits, a little sprinkle of cinnamon. The holy trinity of morning coffee.

    Great post, as always, Mardi!

  10. I like my coffee ground with my coffee grinder, then into my french press it goes. Add a little organic cane sugar and a little cream to my strong brew and there you have it! Then of to my patio I go, to enjoy the mornings breeze and my coffee!

    Delish!
