On Monday February 22nd 2021, join me in celebrating the ninth annual National Cupcake Day which benefits Societies for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCAs) and Humane Societies across Canada.
What is National Cupcake Day?
Originally launched by the RSPCA in New South Wales, Australia, National Cupcake Day began in Canada in 2013, and the initiative has grown across the country year after year. Proceeds from National Cupcake Day help the Ontario SPCA support our furry friends, big and small, who have been abused, abandoned, or are in need of a new home. In 2020, animal lovers across Canada raised over $280,000 in support of their favourite animal welfare organization. The campaign has raised $3.8 million to date!
How am I helping animals in need?
This year is also MY ninth year participating in National Cupcake Day. I am raising urgently-needed funds to support animals in need in my local community, who need it more now than ever, with funds going to the Toronto Humane Society.
Because of COVID-19, we can’t celebrate National Cupcake Day in person together but this year, I’m hosting an online baking class where you will learn to make a very special type of cupcake with proceeds going towards the Toronto Humane Society. I hope you will consider joining me online to bake a difference for animals in need!

What: Learn to make “financiers” a special kind of French cupcake-like teatime treat, two ways!
Cost: a minimum donation of $15 to National Cupcake Day 2021 with my proceeds going to Toronto Humane Society. I will verify donations and cross check registrations.
