Jasper is one of the stops when you travel across Canada from Toronto to Vancouver on Via Rail’s The Canadian.
The scenery on the way to Jasper is stunning…
And whilst you most likely won’t have too long to explore, if you’re hungry for something sweet during your quick stop in Jasper, you’re in luck!
And having stretched your legs briefly, settle back in to enjoy the scenery after Jasper…

Hi MArdi,
For how long did you stop in Jasper? I am planning the trip next summer with my 9 year old and was wondering if you would recommend the economy class for a child (Toronto-Jasper)?
Thanks for sharing
Hi Cindy, As you can see in the signage in one of the top photos, it’s about 90 minutes (give or take). As far as recommending the economy class for a child, you can see more pictures here https://www.eatlivetravelwrite.com/2013/09/toronto-to-vancouver-by-train-on-via-rails-the-canadian-what-to-expect/. I guess it depends on what type of traveller you and your child are and personal preference but it would probably be a wonderful adventure!
