This week’s Tuesdays with Dorie recipe from Dorie’s Cookies was Macarons (p 312) and I had every intention of making these but life (and a senior cat requiring a bit more attention than usual) got in the way. I mean, I have made Dorie’s macaron recipe a bunch of times… most recently a couple of years ago when the recipe was the Tuesdays with Dorie pick from Baking Chez Moi:
So yeah, technically I didn’t make the recipe *this week* but I’ve definitely made Dorie’s recipe multiple times (the recipes in Baking Chez Moi and Dorie’s Cookies are the same). So I’m using this week’s post to share a couple of pieces of news!
My blog is a teenager!!!
That’s right – 13 years ago on May 15th, I launched this little corner of the internet! Here’s what it looked like back then!
If you’re an OG reader – THANK YOU!
If you’re new around these parts, thanks for joining the journey. I never could have imagined I’d have been writing this blog (and have written 2 1/2 cookbooks!) 13 years later but there you go!
You might not know that I also write a newsletter (launched in 2018, moved to Substack a year ago this month) and I offer both free and paid subscriptions. As a little thanks to readers, I’m offering a discount for paid subscriptions!

As a nod to my blog turning 13 this year, I’m offering 13% off paid subscriptions. Paid subscribers receive a couple more newsletters each month, including exclusive recipes (I’ve got some video recipes coming up soon too), plus the chance to comment on and chat about posts with other subscribers. As a subscriber, you’ll only receive the posts you sign up for, with no advertising to interrupt your user experience. For less than the price of one coffee each week, won’t you consider supporting my creative space?

Did you know…
This month, I’m donating $1 for each copy sold of either of the French Food for Everyone books to World Central Kitchen the largest food relief operation in Ukraine, reaching more than 230 cities and towns.

What a lot of achievements you’ve clocked up along the way, did you ever finish the Phd?
Thank you for the information about powders for coloring macarons. I love these cookies and your filling. Congrats on the milestone of your blog. It has been fun baking and reading together all these years.
