Tuesdays with Dorie: (not) Macarons from Dorie’s Cookies (psst: my blog is 13 years old!)

Macarons with a birthday candle.

This week’s Tuesdays with Dorie recipe from Dorie’s Cookies was Macarons (p 312) and I had every intention of making these but life (and a senior cat requiring a bit more attention than usual) got in the way. I mean, I have made Dorie’s macaron recipe a bunch of times… most recently a couple of years ago when the recipe was the Tuesdays with Dorie pick from Baking Chez Moi:

A stack of Dorie Greenspan's Parisian Macarons on a white plate

So yeah, technically I didn’t make the recipe *this week* but I’ve definitely made Dorie’s recipe multiple times (the recipes in Baking Chez Moi and Dorie’s Cookies are the same).  So I’m using this week’s post to share a couple of pieces of news!

My blog is a teenager!!!

That’s right – 13 years ago on May 15th, I launched this little corner of the internet! Here’s what it looked like back then!

  1. Congratulations on 13 years..and all the fun stuff that came along with it! I might not be an OG…but pretty close. So fun to share this blogging and baking experience with others around the world for such a long time. 😍

  2. Congratulations on reaching this milestone! I remember those Blogger banners looking like that, yours looks far more tasteful than mine was in neon pink.

What a lot of achievements you’ve clocked up along the way, did you ever finish the Phd?

  3. Thank you for the information about powders for coloring macarons. I love these cookies and your filling. Congrats on the milestone of your blog. It has been fun baking and reading together all these years.
