A small sidebar from Summer Reads this week – though it IS a summer read of sorts!
Three years ago this weekend, I released my first book which has been a smashing success – in fourth print currently and there are still SO many people cooking and baking from it! Well guess what?
Today, I’m excited to announce that I’ve been working on another cookbook!
It’s called French Food for Everyone and is a collection of easy French recipes to make French food accessible to, well, everyone! I’ve been so inspired by the families cooking together in my online classes over the past 18 months that my hope is to see even more families in the kitchen, making delicious memories together. If the pandemic has taught me anything, it’s the value of slowing down and so many people told me that they loved making a meal with their whole family and sitting down together to enjoy it without all the pressure of extra-curricular or other activities we are typically occupied with in normal times. Let’s keep some of that quality family time sacred as we move back into a more normal life…
I’m self-publishing this time and will be releasing a chapter at a time, with the first chapter, “le goûter” (after-school snacks), releasing on August 31st 2021! There are five chapters in total and I expect to release another chapter by Christmas to add to your collection! You’ll be able to enjoy it as a Kindle book or if you prefer, you can order a print-on-demand book (and folks in Toronto might have the chance to purchase hard copy books from me as well – stay tuned!).
This time, I’m doing everything but the design (so, making the recipes to photograph and styling them myself) – for that I’m working with the fabulous LeAnna of Weller Smith Design and from our first Zoom meeting when we both showed up in French stripey tops, it’s felt like this partnership was meant to be. She’s taken my work and made it into something absolutely GORGEOUS (if I do say so myself!).
I had a small (but mighty) team of recipe testers who have helped me get the recipes *just right* for you to have success first time around, there are some “little hands making things” photos that you might expect and you’ll find Lisa Nunamaker’s illustrations again – she’s behind my blog header (^^^), the illustrations on our holiday rental website, Neil’s wine website and she also contributed to In the French kitchen with kids. We LOVE her work!
I’m working on final edits (words and design) right now and cannot wait to have this available to pre-order!
Stay tuned to my Instagram and/ or Facebook over the next month for sneak peeks and information on how to buy! I am SO excited to release this into the world!
