This week’s Tuesdays with Dorie recipe from Dorie’s Cookies was not only “remarkably wonderful” it was also “remarkably delicious”. Named for a friend Dorie “met” in the early days of internet culinary forums and who has now become a real-life friend, Sebastian, these brownies are wonderfully fudgey without feeling underbaked as many fudgey brownies do (so, more like a “smooth cake texture if you can imagine that).
The butter, sugar and eggs are whipped for a total of nearly 10 minutes which contributes to this wonderfully dense, yet light texture and it must be tasted to believe that the beating time makes a difference.
These were amazingly good on the day they were baked, although I think I liked them even better the next day. My colleagues who gobbled them up (I brought in a selection of THREE different baked goods this week!), agreed. Dorie says the recipe makes 20 but you can cut them up into smaller pieces if they are too rich. Or, you know, if your colleague has brought in two other kinds of chocolatey treats….
Bookmarking these for my “basic brownie” recipe from now on.
