This month’s Cookies and Kindness recipe also happens to be one of the picks for Tuesdays with Dorie this month! Some of you may remember that last year, I introduced you to Dorie Greenspan’s latest project, #cookiesandkindness.
The aim: To make the world sweeter.
The method: Bake/Share/Post
This month, she’s chosen a recipe from Dorie’s Cookies that’s perfect for sharing
on St Valentine’s Day anytime. In the recipe for Dorie’s Valentine’s Day share-a-heart cookies, she says:
I love the idea of a big cookie, a really big cookie, one that can be put in the center of the table within easy reach of everyone and picked at and broken and cracked and nibbled while the conversation keeps going.
and suggests making two large hearts and some smaller cookies which are perfect to serve for a sharing platter.
I made the entire batch of cookie dough (it’s rare!) with the intent of sharing them all! I sent some along to Neil’s curling club bake off and – gasp – there were leftovers (what is wrong with those people?) so I simply packed them up and took them along to work yesterday morning where people couldn’t stop eating them. Three people asked me for the recipe. People said the plain ones didn’t look like much but when they bit into the buttery cocoa goodness, they changed their minds. These are GOOD cookies, friends! Not too sweet, just chocolately enough. And, of course, they lend themselves beautifully to sprinkles!
