Those of you who have read this blog for a while now or who follow me on Instagram will know that we have spent a fair amount of time in France over the past two years. Specifically, in the Lot-et-Garonne in a town called Nérac. I first discovered Nérac in the summer of 2012, when I headed down there to take in a food photography workshop with Kate Hill and Tim Clinch. I think I fell in love the the town there and then.
Fast forward to the summer of 2014 when we found ourselves buying a house there. No, not spontaneously like you read about in books or see in films, this was a very deliberate decision that took months to execute! A lot of people ask us “Why Nérac?” since we have travelled to so many parts of France in the past. Well, though there are a lot of reasons which I’ll talk about in a subsequent post, I’d say these pictures tell a great deal of the “why”. These were taken on not a particularly sunny day in the summer, yet the town shines.
Oh and that little house we bought?

We live Nerac as well! We have friends who own the Hotel Henri IV, Ann & Julien and kids and Sophie & Edithe at the pharmacy nearby. We might live there too someday.
Oh what a small world! We stayed at the Henri IV when we were looking at houses!
