  1. From Cookbook Club:

Without a doubt, I would make the Noodles, Sweet Potatoes and Shrimp in Curry Broth. Why? Maybe the cold January days call out for soup, but I think it was the ingredients — how could I go wrong. Sounds (and looks) so so good.

  2. I need to cook faster because I now have a toddler, lol.
Wow. The Noodles, Sweet Potatoes and Shrimp in Curry Broth looks amazing! If I had to choose I would make that, simply because it is making me very hungry and I would love to try it right now.

  3. This book is great – I would love to learn how to make things faster because working, hot yoga, part-time school has got me so busy and hard to have time to prep and cook!

  4. Out of the choices, I would love to make the Noodles, Sweet Potatoes and Shrimp in Curry Broth! I am a huge soup/stew person first of all. Secondly, this screams comfort food to me especially now on these cold winter days!

  5. I have SO much going on right now, I work 45 mins away from home, so when I get home after work I’m STARVING and need to whip up a meal quickly. I LOVED his other book “How to Cook Everything – The Basics” and I’m sure I’d love this one as well!

    Thanks for the chance!

  6. Why? Bad habits is why. I get home and I start doing things — housework mainly 🙁 Next thing I know, it is an hour away from bedtime (I start work early) and no dinner. I find myself scrambling and eating out of the freezer, rather that enjoying myself and cooking a good meal.

Another reason: my partner goes from ‘not hungry’ to ‘I’m starving and there is no food left in the world!’ in a very short time. He thinks that the only solution then is sandwiches or fast food. Ick.

  7. When I’m hungry I don’t have the patience to take the time I need to prepare a healthy meal – often selecting a quick but unhealthy meal option. Hopefully learning to cook fast would help me break this bad habit.

  8. I am already a big fan of brussels sprouts so the Charred Brussels Sprouts Salad really appeals to me.

Mardi – I love reading your Cookbook Club posts. Your dinners sound like great fun.
