Pumpkin chocolate chip blondies (and a Butter Baked Goods giveaway!)

Butter Baked Goods Pumpkin chocolate chip blondies on eatlivetravelwrite.comIf you’ve been reading this blog for a while, you might already know I am a huge fan of the Butter Baked Goods cookbook. It’s the cookbook that taught me how to make marshmallows and it’s the cookbook that my Cookbook Book Club cooked from earlier this year when we hosted an all-dessert party featuring goods from the book!

So when a few of my favourite bloggers decided to team up and post about treats from the book in conjunction with a giveaway, I couldn’t resist. Since t’is the season for all things pumpkin, I couldn’t go past these pumpkin blondies with chocolate chips. And for an extra seasonal twist, I added some dried cranberries too. It’s the perfect treat for this time of year (especially for someone who quite likes pumpkin flavour but not pumpkin pie – it’s a textural thing!).

Loved that they didn’t dry out, and were not too sweet (even given their oh, so sweet ingredient list!). Perfect to accompany a morning coffee… or an afternoon glass of milk 🙂

  1. LOVE LOVE pumpkin blondies! But I’d say my go-to dessert of choice for the holidays are either snickerdoodles or pumpkin dark chocolate bread (with a maple glaze if I’m feeling extra indulgent)!

  2. Couldn’t help but smile while I was reading this. Why? Well the topic of conversation over the weekend was WHEN? When was I going to start the Christmas baking! Here’s some of the list. It seems like I’m going to be a busy elf 😉

    1) Fudgy Gluten-Free Brownies
    2) Rocky Road Fudge
    3) Fresh Bread

By the way Mardi your Pumpkin chocolate chip blondies was delicious!!

  3. Actually, that’s a tough question.

I *do* start to get fidgety if I go more than 30 days without a macaron…but that’s an occupational hazard Chez Mardi.

Anything from a book that promoted BUTTER is good and healthy. Enough of these fanatic health viewpoints. Eat well; just eat less. 😉

I’ve yet to have someone make me a stupendous Christmas Pudding, but that comes to mind as we hit December. Otherwise butter tarts and their ilk would be high on my list.

Then again, I’m not worried: as FFWD winds down, I know we’re going through the whole new book!!! 🙂 x 10

  4. To somebody down under… the term pumpkin pie (to represent something sweet) always sounds oxymoronic. Sweet vegetable pie. We don’t get it.
    They do look nice, though.

  5. Sugar cookies – Christmas shaped ones with icing. They remind me of decorating them with my family when I was growing up.

  6. Those look wonderful! I had Butter Baked Goods out from the library and it’s definitely on my wishlist. My favourite thing to make/eat at the holidays is cookies. I love trying out four or five new recipes and choosing a few tried-and-true ones, too. So great for swaps and bringing to holiday parties.
