Mery Christmans (no, this is not a typo!)

Ten years ago in Morocco, even in the midst of Ramadan, we were thrilled to be welcomed and wished Mery Christmans (or even Merry Christmas!). This year to all my readers and friends around the world, I wish you a wonderful Christmas and holiday season. My gifts to you are two-fold:

Firstly, following my macaron workshop the other day, clearly you cannot get enough macarons in one day, since we ended up at Ladurée Le Bar on the Champs Elysées. As a gift to those of you who can’t be here to share my experience (hey – Foodbuzz, how about a Food Blogger Festival in Paris next year???), here are some pictures.

Inside (fyi, you have to go in on the side street…), it’s absolutely sublime:

Les boissons:

We made Neil have a Cocktail Macaron, even though he protested its masculinity. When at Ladurée, right?

Cassis-violette for Neil and Alicia…

Café pour moi.

Both with a bonus macaron!

And oh, look, the addition is conveniently folded so you can’t see the prices. Hey – it’s Christmas – they’re on me!

Secondly, in the spirit of giving, if you live in Canada or the US, you are eligible to enter my Le Creuset giveaway. Just click here to comment on this post anytime up until Jan 3rd…

I hope you have (had) a wonderful day, good food and wine with your families. We’re off to Dinan tomorrow for a week and not sure about Internet connection but will try to pre-post some more Paris for your entertainment. As I sit typing this at 6.30pm on Christmas Eve, drinking a lovely kir-mûre, Alicia and Neil are plotting a few driving trips in Brittany… Life is good. I can assure you that there will be many more posts to come so keep on checking in!

I am certain you are having a wonderful holiday over there. Wishing you warm, safe, and adventurous travels.

Merry Christmas to you and Mr Neil! We had a nice stinking hot one here! (cranked up the air con and still ate a piping hot lunch… so silly yet I doubt we'll ever change) xxx

  5. Oh, my! Laduree is on of my all time favorite spots in Paris. Loved seeing these photos. I left a little pink macaron post for Pink Saturday. We had peppermint almond macarons on Christmas Eve. Delicious! ~ Sarah
