"American" foods according to David Jones

Wandering through David Jones’ Sydney Food Hall the other week (a must if you are ever in Sydney), I was intrigued to find a little cluster of goods at the end of an aisle. Whilst it was not marked as such, I am pretty sure this is their idea of American “specialty ingredients”. Check them out:








Funny what looks “foreign” to me now. I remember living in Paris in the 1990s there was one store called Thanksgiving that stocked US ingredients and it seemed so exotic. Now I live in Canada, not so much! Mind you, Australians reading recent entries might scoff at what I find exotic and “foreign” these days too. It’s all relative!
