Les Petits Chefs bake for the holidays with Jennifer Perillo and Bridget Edwards

Sugar cookies and gingersnaps by Les Petits Chefs on eatlivetravelwrite.com… well not *with* Jennie and Bridget themselves (but wouldn’t that would be fabulous?), rather with their recipes…

We’re a day and a half away from the end of the longest term of the year. We’re all a bit “done” but I wanted to keep the Petits Chefs busy until the very end and what better way than to bake up some holiday goodness in the form of cookies? I chose a simple sugar cookie from Bridget’s site and the crispy chewy gingersnap cookies that Jennie posted recently – I thought they were excellent “base” recipes for the boys to learn how to make, and since neither of them requires chilling, I thought they were perfect to make in under an hour 🙂

We divided into 2 groups today to make sure we got all the cookies made and baked in our 60 minutes… Both of the cookies are essentially “one bowl” which I love – and it makes them so much more attractive to bake with kids (less mess!).

Jennifer Perillo's gingersnaps and Bakeat350's perfect roll our sugar cookies on eatlivetravelwrite.comA lil on the rustic side but *I* think they are perfect 🙂 We packaged them up and the boys were instructed to give them to their mums…  I’m not sure how many of those ended up with their mums though…

Thanks Jennie and Bridget for accompanying my students at least in spirit this week. I am thrilled to have been able to show the boys how easy cookies they might otherwise buy or prepare from a packet are to make from scratch. In one bowl. In under an hour. Win-win situation I’d say!

  2. Win-win situation indeed! LPC did a great job with Jennifer and Bridget’s recipes. If any of them are stuck for a gift for their mom’s this Christmas, either (or both) of these lady’s books are fabulous 🙂

    I’ve been feeling rather overwhelmed and exhausted from blogging lately, but posts like this renew my inspiration and interest. Thank you! 🙂
